The Cheltenham Festival is just seven days away and punters have already been placing plenty of bets on the action.

Irish trainers look set for plenty of success over the four-day meeting with the likes of Willie Mullins and Henry de Bromhead set to send very strong teams to Prestbury Park.

Denise Foster has taken over training duties at Cullentra House following Gordon Elliott's six-month suspension after a photo emerged showing him sitting on a dead horse.

Foster's name could also be among the winners at this year's festival.

Ahead of the meeting, Paddy Power have revealed the five most backed Irish horses. They are:

Zanahiyr has come in for plenty of support in the Triumph Hurdle (Friday, 1.20pm) after winning a Grade 2 at Leopardstown on St Stephen's Day. There was no turkey hangover as he jumped flawlessly and showed a devastating turn of foot.

Henry De Bromhead's Bob Olinger was a Grade 1 winner in Naas in January and will be partnered by top jockey Rachel Blackmore in the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle (Wednesday, 1.20pm). The money hasn't stopped flowing for Bob who Jamie Codd recently described as 'a God given certainty' at Cheltenham.

Honeysuckle - Champion Hurdle 9/4

Unsurprisingly another one of De Bromhead's leading mounts has seen a lot of bets, and that's the leading lady herself, Honeysuckle.

She has won all 10 of her hurdle races in her career including the Irish Champion Hurdle last month. She is 9/4 to win the Champion Hurdle at the Festival (Tuesday, 3.05pm) and give Rachel Blackmore another slice of history.

Sir Gerhard - Champion Bumper 2/1

Finally Sir Gerhard in the Champion Bumper (Wednesday, 4.50pm) has seen plenty of support after moving to Willie Mullins' yard from Gordon Elliott.

An easy winner in Navan before Christmas, Sir Gerhard is touted to be the best in his field, and could reward Irish punters who have stuck with him over the last few months.

Spokesperson Paddy Power said: 'I dream of the Cheltenham Festival all year round, but those five horses winning could be a nightmare for business.'

'All five Irish horses have seen incredible support from punters and a €1 on all five returns just over €700. I don't fancy facing the shareholders if they all oblige.'
